(The news <a href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2026\/02\/26\/exclusive-lenovo-legion-go-foldable-is-an-11-6-handheld-that-doubles-as-a-pc\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">leaked out<\/a> last week.) Mashable also got the chance to go hands-on with the concept handheld at a demo event ahead of MWC, and it&#8217;s a cool little gadget.<\/p>\n<p>The aptly named Legion Go Fold features a POLED display with a hinge in the middle, which allows it to expand from 7.7 inches to 11.6 inches. The device includes detachable controllers as well as a detachable wireless keyboard, letting it double as a <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/roundup\/best-windows-laptop-2026-tested\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">Windows laptop<\/a>. It certainly seems like a more viable idea than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xda-developers.com\/samsung-flex-gaming-foldable-handheld\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">Samsung&#8217;s foldable handheld concept<\/a> from MWC 2025, which gave &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/review\/nintendo-switch-2-reviewhttps:\/\/www.laptopmag.com\/laptops\/gaming-laptops-pcs\/samsung-folding-gaming-handheld-concept-mwc-2025-\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">pre-broken Nintendo Switch<\/a>,&#8221; according to Laptop Mag.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mx-auto mt-8 w-full max-w-4xl\">\n<div class=\"youtube-video-container\" id=\"video-container-01KJP17FAP31DRE9FVSXNX3KHD\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Legion Go Fold is only a concept for now, but Lenovo has a <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/lenovo-rollable-display-laptop-hands-on-ces-2025\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">decent track record<\/a> of bringing its prototypes to market. If it makes this one a reality, it could very well be the ultimate portable gaming device. In a press release, the company pitched it &#8220;for gamers who don\u2019t have hours to sit in front of a TV or PC, or who don\u2019t want to juggle both a <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/roundup\/best-laptops-2026-tested\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">laptop<\/a> for work and a handheld for gaming when traveling.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Our tech editor Timothy Werth got to try the folding gaming handheld at a press event, and its design made a lasting impression. &#8220;The foldable screen looks really frickin&#8217; cool, and it certainly gives you a lot more screen real estate when unfolded. In standard Handheld Mode, it controllers sandwich its folded-up screen. In horizontal Full Screen Mode, its screen unfolds &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/papercraftaddict.wordpress.com\/2020\/05\/20\/cutting-card-bases-hamburger-fold-vs-hot-dog-fold\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">hotdog style<\/a>&#8221; for a larger viewing area. <\/p>\n<p>In vertical Split-Screen Mode, the Legion Go Fold&#8217;s screen is positioned vertically (&#8220;hamburger style&#8221;) and divided between different apps. Its right controller, which works as a vertical mouse, has a small screen that functions as touchpad, a display for performance metrics or settings, and a custom hotkey.<\/p>\n<p>Lenovo didn&#8217;t specifically mention this in its press release, but several photos in its press kit showed the Legion Go Fold in a fifth mode where its screen is unfolded and placed upright. Its controllers can be used in both hands or joined in the middle to create a more traditional full-sized gamepad. The former is an older <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcmag.com\/news\/lunar-lake-leaves-the-launch-pad-intel-unveils-core-ultra-2-laptop-chips\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">Lunar Lake<\/a> chip, which is a little odd, though it&#8217;s possible Lenovo would swap it for a newer CPU upon the device&#8217;s formal launch.
