Grab your shortbread biscuits and lace up your football boots, because this March, we’re going back to Richmond.
Apple TV+ announced the return of its Emmy-winning comedy Ted Lasso with a sweet video of various AFC Richmond players and staff putting their own spins on Ted Lasso’s (Jason Sudeikis) iconic “Believe” sign. Each sign is a fun look at the characters’ personalities: Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) has a hard time fitting “believe” on his piece of paper, while Isaac McAdoo (Kola Bokinni) delivers some artful paper cutting. Sam Obisanya’s (Toheeb Jimoh) sign is all smiles, and Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández) writes his own sign in Spanish. Higgins (Jeremy Swift) turns out to be quite the calligrapher. Meanwhile, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) decides to simply print her own sign out. And you can’t get bigger polar opposites than Keeley’s (Juno Temple) sparkly flair and Roy Kent’s (Brett Goldstein) extreme minimalism.
The Richmond crew hangs these up around their locker room, presumably as a way to hype themselves up for the coming season. And it looks like they’re going to need it: The newly promoted Richmond is the laughingstock of the Premier League. It doesn’t help that they’re facing West Ham United, the team now coached by “wonder kid” (and former Lasso protégé) Nate (Nick Mohammed). Whether or not Richmond prevails this season, I truly “believe” that they’ll give it their all.
Ted Lasso Season 3 premieres March 15 on Apple TV.
