UPDATE: Feb. 9, 2023, 11:40 a.m. EST This story has been updated.
After briefly going offline before Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct livestream, preorders for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are officially live again.
The listings went up after Nintendo revealed a second trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to 2017’s Breath of the Wild to finish its showcase, and they confirmed a rumored price increase: The standard edition of the Switch game will, indeed, cost $69.99, putting Nintendo in line with other games publishers like Xbox and PlayStation who have started charging more for first-party titles. (No word on how retailers will handle the customers who locked in a preorder at $59.99 after they first went live last September, but all you early-birds may have saved yourselves a couple bucks — i.e., don’t cancel anything just yet.)
For players with even more wiggle room in their budgets, Nintendo also announced a Collector’s Edition of TOTK and a new Link amiibo figurine priced at $129.99 and $15.99, respectively.
Both versions of the Tears of the Kingdom (as well as the amiibo) are still slated for release on Friday, May 12 of this year, so go ahead and schedule your PTO accordingly. Here’s a breakdown of their availability at major retailers.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ($69.99)
The base game was up for preorder at Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and in the My Nintendo Store the last time we checked. (Amazon had it marked as “Currently Unavailable,” but expect it to return there soon.)
No one is offering any preorder bonuses, though the My Nintendo Store did make TOTK eligible for game vouchers. If you’re a Nintendo Switch Online member, you can buy a pair of two vouchers for $99.98 through your console and have it pre-load ahead of release.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition ($129.99)
Splurging on the Collector’s Edition of TOTK nabs you a SteelBook case, a poster, a pin set, and a hardcover art book in addition to a copy of the base game. It was up for preorder at GameStop at the time of writing; Best Buy had it available immediately after Nintendo Direct but has since listed it as “Coming Soon.”

New Link amiibo ($15.99)
Per Nintendo’s press release, this collectible figurine “grants access to materials and weapons, as well as a special fabric for Link’s paraglider” when the NFC reader scans the chip in its base in your Switch’s right Joy-Con. We’ve spotted it in stock at Best Buy.
