Samsung will give you up to $100 for reserving a new device before its Galaxy Unpacked event

Free Samsung credit: You’ll receive a $50 credit toward a Samsung pre-order if you reserve the upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphone or Galaxy Book through Feb. 1, the day of Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked showcase. Reserving both devices nabs you $100.

Samsung is hoping you’re ready to take a chance ahead of its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.

Through Feb. 1 (the day of the biannual showcase where Samsung will unveil new products), Samsung will give you a free $50 credit for reserving its yet-to-be-announced Galaxy smartphone or Galaxy Book, which you can put toward a pre-order. Lock in both devices and you’ll get $100.

We don’t actually know the specifics of the devices in question just yet, but we have a pretty good hunch that the smartphone will be the Galaxy S23 (perhaps with stylus support à la last year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra). Promotional materials hint at a new camera with three lenses that are “made for moonlight,” so some new night or low-light mode is highly likely.

Some fine print: Anyone is eligible for the offer; you just have to cough up your name, phone number, and email address. Also, you aren’t technically obligated to buy the Galaxy smartphone and/or Book if you reserve them ahead of time, but you will forfeit your $50 or $100 credit if you decide not to go through with your purchase. Those credits can only be redeemed as part of these pre-orders and not for anything else on samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app.

Tune in to the Galaxy Unpacked event to find out exactly what you’re getting — it’ll be streamed live on Samsung’s website and YouTube channel starting at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
