If the main measurement of a movie poster’s success is how much attention it draws to the film in question, then we guess the new poster for the remastered Titanic has to be classed as a winner.
Sort of, anyway.
On Tuesday, Paramount shared a new poster for Titanic to tie in with the movie being released in 4K 3D for its 25th anniversary.
To describe the reactions to that poster as mixed would be…generous.
This was the detail everyone kept coming back to: The hair. If you view the full poster image, you’ll see what they mean.
People couldn’t get their heads round it.
So, what exactly is going on here? Is the hair an oversight? A strange Photoshop accident? Or is it actually something more intentional?
Well, whether it’s an arty class metaphor or a strange accident, the poster has certainly got people talking about Titanic again. So in that sense, at least…a job well done?
