Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ opening titles are packed full of hidden clues

We’ve already had our first glimpse of Wednesday, Tim Burton’s coming-of-age crime/horror/mystery spinoff of The Addams Family franchise, and now we have a title sequence too.

Filled with eerie music and ominous imagery of bugs being swallowed by Venus flytraps and crows flying past a full moon, the opening theme is also packed with little clues that may or may not be relevant to the show itself — keep an eye out for.

What’s the Nightshade Society, emblazoned on a mysterious tome? Why is Thing, the Addams’ handiest family member, crawling down a spiral staircase that resembles a clock? What’s that burning tree doing inside a crystal ball?

Wednesday stars Jenny Ortega in the titular role alongside Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, and film franchise OG Wednesday Christina Ricci.

Wednesday Addams is streaming on Netflix from Nov. 23.
