Bad Bunny is Spotify’s top artist, duh

Bad Bunny has filled arenas, beaches, and most of the playlists on Spotify.

The Puerto Rican superstar secured the title of most-streamed artist globally on Spotify for the third year in a row. According to Spotify, via its end-of-year Wrapped data, he accumulated over 18.5 billion streams in 2022. The second most-streamed artist was Taylor Swift, followed by Drake, The Weekend, and BTS.

Bad Bunny released his latest chart-topping album, Un Verano Sin Ti, back in May, and it’s already one of the most-streamed albums in Spotify history. He also embarked on a world tour, and made his big screen debut in Bullet Train. Meanwhile, Harry Styles — who also tried his hand at acting this year — had the most streamed-song on the platform with “As It Was.”

Following Styles, “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals ranked second, and “Stay (with Justin Bieber)” by The Kid LAROI came in third (the song also appeared on last year’s global list). Rounding out the top five are two tracks from Bad Bunny: “Me Porto Bonito” and “Tití Me Preguntó.”

Bad Bunny also had the most-streamed album of the year, followed by Harry Styles’ Harry’s House. Also making the cut: Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, Ed Sheeran’s =, and Doja Cat’s Planet Her. The most-streamed albums in the U.S. differ slightly, with Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album taking the third spot, and Taylor Swift’s Midnights following it, just two months after its release. But it looks like we’re all still listening to Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour because it rounds out the most-streamed albums in the U.S.

In addition to revealing the platform’s most-streamed, Spotify also announced that this year’s Wrapped is analyzing your “listening personality.”
