Threads is finally rolling out a Following feed. Here’s how to get it.

While Twitter/X is busy imploding, Threads is still quietly trying to capitalise on the mayhem.

On Tuesday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s competitor platform began rolling out a Following feed, one of many feature users have been calling for since the app launched on July 10 (you could previously play around with your account settings to tailor your feed manually, but it wasn’t an ideal solution).

Musk announced the feature by responding to one of the many posts calling for it, writing, “Ask and you shall receive.”

At the time of writing it appears only some accounts can access the new feed. If you’re one of the lucky ones, you can toggle it on and off via either the Threads logo at the top of the page, or via the Home icon (per The Verge).

The update appears to be one of several new features teased in the notes for Version 293.0. “You asked, we answered,” reads the text in the What’s New section for the Version announced on Monday. “New features coming, so keep an eye out as you browse the latest version of the app.”

Threads has had an explosive, albeit mixed, beginning. Meta’s app rocketed up to 100 million users in just five days, only to see its daily active user base half a little over a week later.

Mashable has a few guides that might make your time on Threads a little smoother. But just remember, the app is tracking you in all sorts of ways.
