Walmart’s big summer sale starts a day before and ends a day after Prime Day

UPDATE: Jun. 23, 2023, 10:22 a.m. EDT This story has been updated.

One thing about Walmart is that it will never pass up a chance to mess with Jeff Bezos’ bottom line.

The big box store has announced a new summer savings event called Walmart+ Week, which will run during (and longer than) Amazon Prime Day from Monday, July 10 at 12 p.m. ET until Thursday, July 13 at 7 p.m. ET. The first 24 hours of deals will be open exclusively to members of its Walmart+ subscription service before everyone else can start shopping at noon ET on Tuesday, July 11.

Amazon’s flagship sale typically hogs the spotlight this time of year, and perhaps rightfully so. Firstly, its 12-year existence is simply more established. More notably, Prime events often feature unprecedented deals on its own devices like Echos and Fire TVs, as well as big-ticket items like Peloton bikes, souped-up robot vacuums, and OLED TVs, few of which its competitors have managed to replicate. But Walmart’s event has two big things going for it:

  1. There’s no membership fee required to unlock deals. (Walmart+ members just get a head start.)

  2. Walmart’s event starts the day before Prime Day starts and runs a day past the end of Prime Day.

The event also covers very similar categories to Prime events, ushering deals across its tech, home, and apparel departments. Big upcoming doorbusters mentioned in a sneak peek from Walmart include the Dyson V8 Origin+ for $249.99 and a 65-inch TCL QLED TV for $398 — we’ll update this list as soon as these go live.

Below, we’re rounding up the best Walmart deals we’ve found that are already live.
