You can never have too many gaming controllers. Well, maybe you can, but we think you should have at least two (four if you really want to have a killer multiplayer setup). Not only will they come in handy when you want to play games with other people, but it’s also clutch to have a backup when your controller runs out of battery and you don’t have the patience to wait for it to charge.

Xbox has one of the best default controllers out there (although if you can swing it, we recommend going for the Elite Series 2). They’re some of the most ergonomic console controllers out there, and they boast a 40-hour battery life, which is pretty rare. You can either connect it to your console (or PC) wirelessly or via USB-C, and you’ll also have the option to fully remap the device’s button inputs to your liking. The hybrid D-pad and textured trigger grips are nice bonuses, too. For such an inexpensive product, the Xbox Series X|S controller is really a fantastic value.
