If you somehow missed the strange spectacle that was Donald Trump’s New York City arrest on Tuesday, then Stephen Colbert has you covered.
In the Late Show clip above the host gives his commentary on the most notable moments, from Trump having to push open a door in the courthouse after it wasn’t held for him (“It’s not often you see a door hitting an ass on the way in”) to the low turnout of pro-Trump supporters (“It’s never a good sign when there are fewer people at your current rally than are in prison for your last one”).
To conclude, Colbert reflected on just how conflicted the day made him feel.
“As fascinating as today was it also gives me this uneasy feeling,” he says. “The man who was arrested today is likely to be the Republican nominee for president, even if he has to accept the nomination on the phone through plexiglass. So all of this was weird and totally unprecedented yet it still feels like the right thing to do.”
