After trekking three PlayStation console generations over the course of the last decade (and venturing onto HBO this spring), Joel and Ellie have their sights set on uncharted territory: the PC platform. Here’s what you need to know about The Last of Us Part I for PC if you want to play it as soon as it comes out.

When is The Last of Us Part I coming to PC?

The Last of Us Part I for PC was originally scheduled for release on Friday, March 3, but developer Naughty Dog decided to delay it for several weeks to get it “in the best shape possible.” It’s now officially launching on Tuesday, March 28.

What’s new or different about The Last of Us Part I for PC?

The Last of Us Part I for PC ports over the visual, gameplay, and accessibility improvements from its re-remastered PlayStation 5 release last fall (like 3D audio and DualSense controller support), then tacks on a slew of new PC-specific upgrades to optimize it for the platform. Per a PlayStation blog post, these include support for 4K resolution, ultra-wide 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios, full control remapping, AMD and Nvidia upscaling technologies, and unique features like “adjustable Texture Quality, Shadows, Reflections, Ambient Occlusion, and more.” Be sure to double-check its spec requirements to make sure your machine is up to the task.
